January Item’s I’m Taking With Me Into the Next Months

I can’t believe it is already February (and half way through somehow). On one hand, I am appreciating that it is speeding by right now because I’m excited for Eleanor to hit the fun months of the first year. On the other hand, holy crap it is already February and I still feel like I’m not ready for this year.

It feels like January, as a whole, was a wash. I didn’t set a goal. Didn’t complete a goal. It was just a meh thirty one days. Honestly, most of this month was spent trying to get back on track with our daily schedules. Waking up just to get the kids ready and out the door for school has been TOUGH since Christmas and we are just now actually waking up on time. With all that being said, I wanted to round up this month for me. Call it my “ins” that I am taking into February with me. And I do me for me.

  • Hairitage Products – I am not big on spending a bunch of money on my hair BUT I do love my hair and want to take good care of it. My goal for this year is to find good products for my hair and skin. I am a drugstore queen when it comes to hair, skin care and makeup and am kind of not ashamed of it. BUT, like I said, I want to do better by my hair so baby steps. I am currently trying out the Hairitage line and am pretty dang happy with it! I bought the Shampoo, Conditioner, Oil and Dry Shampoo. `
  • Lancôme Mascara – This is the most expensive mascara I have ever bought and I freaking LOVE it. So worth it. And, if you keep your eye out it does go on sale on Amazon!
  • Grande Lash – This was a “get this for my stocking” item this Christmas. And honestly I have noticed a BIG difference in my lashes in the 4ish weeks I have been using it. Part of that might be due to the fact that I was going through the PP Hair loss right around Christmas, but this definitely is playing a part in the regrowth! I would say I noticed a difference within 2 weeks! (Also available on Amazon!)
  • Calm Magnesium Supplement – I started taking this during my pregnancy with Eleanor and highly recommend during pregnancy. In November/December I stopped taking it and wish I hadn’t. I started taking it daily again and notice a difference in my sleep quality and my digestive track!
  • Digital Planning & Journaling – Ben got me an iPad for Christmas and I don’t know why I didn’t get one earlier. I am absolutely LOVING using this digital planner I created for myself! It’s really awesome because I can take it with me wherever I go and have even been using it to journal and reflect on my daily scripture reading!

  • The School for Good and Evil – I just finished this series and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I am going to buy the whole series in Hardcovers and plan on reading them with the kids when they are a little bit older! (The Netflix movie is TERRIBLE.)
  • Breaking Free from Broke – 10/10 recommend if you are thinking about jumping on the Dave Ramsey train. Kamel takes the Baby Steps and everything taught in Total Money Makeover and gives a millennial twist. (BTW, we’ve been following Ramsey teachings for a year now and we paid off $40k of debt in just 12 months!)
  • How to Stay Standing – I read Alli Patterson’s book this November during a group book study and I couldn’t have loved it more! This is an actual “how to” have a more spiritual and faithful life told through Alli’s own “rock bottom” story. I will be reading this on an annual basis!
